Jovian Mandagie is one of the well-known names in the fashion industry as he never fails to impress us with his designs. Recently, the iconic local fashion designer has come up with the latest ready-to-wear collection named Secret Garden.
Upon seeing Telang 18 for the first time, he knows it’s the perfect place to launch his latest collection. Our design and events team work hand in hand with his to create the ambiance and look just the way he wanted it.
Creating the ambiance
The ambiance of the Telang 18’s magnificent natural environment will enhance any occasion.
The Pavilion at Telang 18 is unique, rustic and charming. The area includes roof to ceiling windows on one side that open onto the lawn and lush greenery to give you the ultimate indoor/outdoor feel.
Jovian Mandagie and team transformed the Telang 18 Pavilion high-ceilinged form into another world. Layers upon layers of delicate strips of fabric gently flowing down from the beams above, creating structure and the illusion of one walking through drooping willows. With dried leaves scattered all over the floor brushing against our heels and shoes and background playback of bird chirping and a distant babbling brook, it truly was a secret garden.
About Jovian Mandagie
Jovian Mandagie is a Malindo (Malaysia – Indonesia) fashion designer whose simple yet elegant couture couture has decked some of Malaysia’s most famous celebrities. His clients include Siti Nurhaliza, Erra Fazira, Linda Onn, Deborah Henry and more.
Born in Indonesia but raised in Malaysia, Jovian has been in the industry since his early twenties. His collection of contemporary designs with a blend of Nusantara elements define his place in the fashion world.

For this event, our team worked hand in hand with JM’s team in creating the lush grandiose feel of the event by supplying and arranging the flowers to create the feeling of being in a ‘Secret Garden’.
Summary
We’re proud with the final outcome of the event, and we believe we delivered the vision originating from Jovian Mandagie, a legendary fashion designer.
With its high ceiling form, the Pavilion can be decorated with layers and layers of delicate fabric gently flowing down from the beam, while making the showcase area feels airy and flowy.
The inspiration behind the Secret Garden is described as, “with dreams of a sun-drenched springtime and blooming flowers, came an inspiration behind the Secret Garden collection. Featuring a new intro to the silhouette, this resort collection carries a selection of straight-cut to puffed-sleeve blouses, palazzo pants to A-line maxi skirts, loose tops to tailored jackets with iconic floral motif and fine detailing.”
The idea was on displayed throughout the exhibition. There are enough space between buildings that allows huge number of people to mingle and socialize without feeling cramped.
